What comes with the CKSystem Strongbox?
TheCKSystem includes the strongbox, control box(prewired), and interior light strip.
How does it open?
We created the Strongbox to open with a standard electrical switch. However, you may desire something with a bit more control like biometric fingerprint and eye recognition, or voice recognition; all can be used to control your Strongbox.
Do you recommend any biometric or wireless switches?
There are some very good options but with varying price points and reliability. We feel it’s best to let you determine your budget and confidence in their performance.
What if I don’t want my children to be able to access the switch?
Place the switch wherever you desire; in the molding of a door frame, floor baseboards, behind furniture, or in/under a cabinet. Be creative with something that works with your home protection strategy. Consider wireless or biometric switches.
What happens if I lose power?
You can purchase an additional battery pack for your control box that will hold a trickle charge for the switch. If the batter pack fails you can remove the screws on the outer door for access.
How secure is the strongbox? Does it lock?
If someone finds it, the Strongbox can be breached. Remember, it’s use is for immediate and easy access to your firearm, not as a safe.
What are the dimensions of the Strongbox?
Both the Subpanel and Picture Frame Strongbox are 14″ x 14″ x 10″ deep and the Full Size Strongbox is 40″ x 14″ x 10″ deep. They are designed to fit between standard wall studs and intentionally designed deeper for easier firearm retrieval and to house multiple firearms.
How difficult is the installation process?
Actual installation of the Strongbox is extremely easy for anyone with a little DIY knowledge and experience, however the electrical specifications will require a bit more advanced knowledge. If the home is under construction or being remodeled, installation of the Strongbox to fit your home protection plan is ideal.
Where should I place the control box?
We recommend easy access to the control box in the attic or a closet should the Strongbox become inoperable. FYI, we’ve operated our display Strongboxes at numerous trade shows with thousands of openings and closings without a single failure; a conservative estimate exceeds 10,000 operations!
How close to the Strongbox should I install the control box?
Typically, the control box will be installed within 100′, however we’ve tested runs exceeding 150′ without delays.
